There are occasions when a planning solution calls for a door that extends beyond the width of the cabinet itself. In the example shown, vertical strips of integrated lighting are concealed within the cabinet side panel behind the widened door — preventing direct visibility from the front and creating a beautifully soft, indirect lighting effect. Can a Türverlängerung be applied to both sides?
With pull-out systems, a front can be planned to extend beyond the cabinet on both sides — even with differing projection widths. With hinged door fittings, the widening can only be applied to the side opposite the fitting.
Does the Türverlängerung work for pull-out and door cabinets?
Yes, a door widening is possible with both hinge systems — pull-out and door cabinets alike.
How much wider than the cabinet can a door be?
Each door may be extended by up to 7.5 cm on either side, while the cabinet body remains entirely unchanged.
